Plastinated female cadaver in the eighth month of pregnancy.

I understand that some may find this image disturbing, but remember that if her baby could have been saved it would have. Then focus on the scientific merit of dissection and preservation of cadavers; without it we wouldn’t understand how our circulatory system works. The immense complexities of life come from pursuit of knowledge, and things can get messy in that course. I’ve dissected a cadaver and I can say it was the simultaneously most disgusting but amazing thing I’ve ever had the privilege of doing. The amount I learned from my course by far made up for the smell.
I’m all for dissection and learning. It’s the poses that these plastination people put the bodies in that I find really disrespectful to the dead here though. Looks like the fetus is a model?
